The Dadant Bee Box is basic beekeeping equipment. Usually it is two levels, the brood box is used for the life of the bees and the rearing of their young, and the super honey is used for the harvest of honey.
A basic wooden bee hive is made up from top to bottom of:
outer cover or telescopic cover
inner cover
one or more beehive bodies or honey shelves made of wood, plastic or other (optional) queen separator between the brood box and the honey shelves
eight or ten frames, in wood or plastic, per hive body or super honey
(optional) wax foundation and wire or plastic
lower board, with optional inlet reducer
